Residing in Verona, NJ, Amanda Morden is a graduate of Montclair State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Flute Performance and a Masters in Multiple Woodwind Performance. She has extensive experience as a performer in multiple settings, including orchestras and theaters. She also teaches woodwinds in several local high schools.
Amanda joined the staff of the Montclair Music Studio in 2022.
Getting to Know Amanda…
What Brought on Your Interest in Music?
I’ve always been inspired by the music in my favorite media. I was raised in a musical family and being shown loving music my entire life fostered a desire to create the thing that moved me.
When did you start your studies?
I started on flute in third grade and over my life gathered saxophone, clarinet, oboe and others.
Was your family involved in music?
Yes. My immediate family is mostly professional musicians and even much of my extended family have a love for music.
Have You Participated in any extra curricular organizations or music clubs?
My goal in life is play as many musicals as possible and I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in many different productions.
What other instruments are in your repertoire?
I’m passionate about world flutes. I own and play a myriad of woodwind instruments from all around the world.
Have You Played at Other Venues?
One of my favorite gigs I’ve gotten to play was in Asbury Park at the Paramount Theater with a spectacular Beatles cover band called the Weeklings. That was a show I’ll never forget.
