Getting to Know Pierce…

What Brought on Your Interest in Music?

My interest in music began at a young age. I have been listening to it for as long as I can remember, and ever since I was 3 years old, I’ve wanted to play music.

When did you start your studies?

I started drum lessons when I was 6 years old and have been studying on and off with private tutors since then, as well as playing in school bands.

Was your family involved in music?

My family is very involved in music. My father is a guitar player, and my mother would always play music in the house or in the car. Additionally, my older sibling is a bass player and my younger sibling plays the piano.

Have You Participated in any extra curricular organizations or music clubs?

I play in several bands, both as a full time member and as a session member. Over the past year I have been gigging actively with the bands Emerson Hill and Golder.

What other instruments are in your repertoire?

I play the vibraphone and it is the primary instrument I study in college.

Have You Played at Other Venues?

I have performed at numerous venues, including the Triad Theater, Dizzy’s Club, Sounds of Brazil, Trans-Pecos and Mercury Lounge.

Any favorite hobbies other than music?

Outside of music I enjoy poetry, nature, skateboarding and anime.
